I started Heart and Light Photography 17 years ago this month. Yep, it was June 2007, that I took myself and my daughter Lauren ( we were partners for a few years)to downtown Xenia to make everything nice and legal.... Which, at the end of the day, means, I pay taxes :)
I have had good years, and a couple of bad years. In the beginning, I was overwhelmed with clients, then as the years went by, and more photographers flooded the market, my client list shrunk a little. It's funny how things work, because, I realize that I wouldn't want to manage the same amount of clients as I did back then, I am a little older, the knees a little stiffer, but, I still get the job done.
This past year was a little harder than in years past, seems like I was always having my allergies act up, and I am trying to be present in my aging parents lives, so I took lots of trips to Pennsylvania to visit them. If your parents are still on this earth, don't take them for granted, cherish them, and spend time with them, which is often hard for me to do as my parents live in the next state.
So, I am gearing up for another season of shoots, and I am excited to work with new clients, and returning clients. I am trying to keep up with marketing, and SEO's, ...and Instagram! Oh, Instagram, how I have neglected you. Today I tried to put up all my shoots from the past season on my Blog, which ended up being pretty funny, as all of them now have the same date of June 2nd, ( laughing) but, these are all the things I have to do to keep current and stay alive in the business marketing sense.
I will leave you with a picture of me and my family taken this past Christmas. They have loved me and supported me through out these 17 years, and I appreciate them for it <3
